Kashmir Solidarity Day: A Tribute to the Struggle for Self-Determination

Kashmir Solidarity Day, observed annually on 5 February, is dedicated to supporting Kashmiris in their fight for self-determination, raising global awareness of their struggles. It highlights the historical context, human rights concerns, and the need for a peaceful resolution between Pakistan and India for regional stability.

Kashmir Solidarity Day, observed on 5 Feb by Pakistan since 1990, expresses support for Kashmiris’ self-determination and highlights Indian actions in the region.

5 February is a day to express solidarity with Kashmir by Pakistan. Since 1990, Pakistanis have been celebrating this day every time on 5 February in solidarity with Kashmir.

This all started in the 1948 war, and after that, with the help of 35A and Article 370, India enthralled the independence of Kashmir. At the time of Pakistan’s sovereignty, India breached the freedom of Kashmir.

The main concern of Kashmir Solidarity Day is to raise a voice against cruel and unjust treatment passed in Kashmir by India. Also to make brothers and sisters of Kashmir believe that Pakistan is with them in this struggle of self-determination.

Indias brutality
Indias brutality

Kashmir is the” Shah rag” of Pakistan. 21st January 1990 was a black day in history when the people of Kashmir were raising their voices for their self-determination in the entire valley, including Srinagar, and Indian forces attacked them and straight fire on the people of Kashmir and made them the target of brutality. And because of blasting and torture, 51 innocent people in Kashmir lost their lives. Humanity shuddered at the bloodshed by the Indian army.

The leader of the Islamic party, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, demanded a day for the covenant with Kashmir. At that time, the government was of the Pakistan People’s Party, and the Prime Minister was Benazir Bhutto, a martyr, and Nawaz Sharif was the Chief Minister of Punjab.

At the demand of Qazi Hussain Ahmad, the federation and all businesses supported him, and for the first time in the history of Pakistan, Kashmir Solidarity Day was celebrated in Pakistan on 5 February 1990. Till now, it’s celebrated with this end that Kashmir will become Pakistan.

People of Pakistan celebrate this day to get attention from all over the world. On the issue of Kashmir, the people of Pakistan are giving this communication to the people of Kashmir who are floundering in self-determination that Pakistan and the people of Pakistan are with them.

All over Pakistan, there’s vacation in every institute, whether it’s government or private. On 5 August 2019, after the illegal attack by India in occupied Kashmir, the significance of Kashmir Solidarity Day increased in Pakistan. We, as a people of Pakistan, are celebrating Kashmir Solidarity Day with this end that one day we will get independence for Kashmir.

It’s a part of our state or foreign policy to stand with Kashmir. In Pakistan, Kashmir Solidarity Day is celebrated to send a message to the people of Pakistan that the people of Kashmir are our brothers and sisters. We have to stand with them in their ups and downs. Our only aim is the independence of Kashmir, and we will get it.
Kashmir Solidarity DayKashmir should be an independent state. Both countries should agree on this so that border pressures will decrease, and both countries will live like good neighbour countries. Right now, this world needs peace rather than wars, and Solidarity Days provide this communication.
