A police constable in Karachi has been suspended after being accused of raping a female polio worker, which reportedly led to her pregnancy. The case came to light when the victim filed a complaint against the officer, prompting senior police officials to take immediate action.

According to South DIG Asad Raza, an inquiry has been ordered to investigate the allegations. The officer was part of the same polio team as the victim, and she claims he first obtained her contact number from the team’s WhatsApp group and began sending her messages, proposing marriage.
The victim told police that the constable later took her to a guest house where he raped her, and as a result she became pregnant. She further alleged that although the constable is aware of the pregnancy, he has refused to marry her.

The woman, a divorcee and mother of two, approached the police with her complaint, which is now under investigation. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken once the inquiry is completed.
