Two siblings lost their lives and their father was critically injured when a speeding dumper truck hit their motorcycle on Rashid Minhas Road early Sunday morning. According to police, the family was returning home from Malir after attending a ceremony when the accident occurred. The dumper driver was caught at the scene and handed over to police.

The tragedy sparked violent protests in the area, with angry residents setting at least seven dumper trucks on fire. Firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control, while police and Rangers restored order. Police confirmed the arrest of the dumper driver and said 10 suspects involved in arson have been detained. Further arrests are expected after reviewing CCTV footage.
Traffic on Rashid Minhas Road was diverted, and the All Pakistan Dumpers Association staged a sit-in on the Superhighway, blocking both tracks. Association president Liaquat Mehsud accused the Sindh government of failing to protect their vehicles and claimed that nine trucks were damaged.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori expressed sorrow over the deaths, prayed for the father’s recovery, and urged the public not to take the law into their own hands. He called for strict action against the dumper driver and measures to curb the so-called “dumper mafia” posing risks to public safety.
