Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has publicly praised Punjab Police for their professionalism after being fined for a traffic violation in Lahore.

In a message posted to his Instagram story, Mr Safdar said he was impressed by the officers who stopped his car, wishing them safety both on and off duty.

His statement followed a routine traffic check in Johar Town, where he was issued a challan for having tinted windows — a violation of local regulations.

A traffic police official confirmed that the fine was issued according to standard procedure, stressing that “no one is above the law.” The incident was part of regular enforcement efforts by the traffic police.

The matter gained further attention after Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also acknowledged the incident. She praised the Dolphin Police team involved in stopping her son’s vehicle, stating that their actions demonstrated a commitment to the rule of law.

Maryam Nawaz reiterated that legal accountability must apply equally to all citizens and that her government is determined to uphold fair enforcement of traffic and public safety laws across Punjab.
