JI Chief Highlights Education Crisis, Urges State Action

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman voiced concern on over the state of education in the country.

Jamaat-e-Islami Emir revealed that more than 10 million children are currently out of school across the country.

Speaking at a gathering in Lahore, Rehman criticised private educational institutions for imposing exorbitant fees.

He stressed that ensuring quality education for every child is a fundamental responsibility of the state.

“It is the responsibility of the state to provide quality education to all children,” Rehman stated.

 He noted that several individuals had not only acquired knowledge but also managed to secure a livelihood through educational opportunities.

Rehman recalled his interactions with young people participating in educational programmes, stating that many had informed him of their progress.

“I asked them about the benefits they were receiving, and they told me they were gaining knowledge and employment,” he said.

He underscored the success of large-scale IT courses previously arranged for young people. These initiatives had enabled several individuals to secure jobs.

Rehman urged the government to prioritise education and create affordable opportunities to ensure no child is left behind.
