A recently installed sculpture on Margalla Avenue in Islamabad, featuring two large hands holding glowing globes, is being removed after facing widespread criticism on social media.

Initially assumed to be a project of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), it was later revealed by journalist Nadia Mirza that the structure was installed by private housing developer Faisal Hills without the CDA’s formal approval.

Following growing public scrutiny, the sculpture was reportedly covered with cloth, and authorities have now decided to take it down entirely. Mirza quoted a source at the site, saying that heavy machinery and labour teams had already arrived to dismantle the structure.

According to reports, CDA officials have confirmed that the sculpture lacked official clearance, prompting their decision to order its removal. The situation has raised questions about how such a large installation was allowed in a prominent location without prior approval.

The artwork sparked debate online, with many users questioning its aesthetic value, relevance, and purpose. The incident has once again highlighted gaps in coordination and enforcement between private developers and city regulators.
