Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has reported increased stress on its electricity distribution system due to the ongoing extreme heatwave and high humidity.
According to a statement released on Wednesday, these conditions have sharply raised electricity demand, resulting in frequent technical faults and repeated tripping across the 11kV feeders.
IESCO officials shared that customer complaints have risen significantly in recent days.

In response, teams from Operations, Grid System Operations (GSO), and Construction have been mobilised across the region to quickly resolve the issues.
The company assured consumers that efforts are being made around the clock to minimise disruptions.
Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Naeem Jan acknowledged the pressure on the system and praised the relentless efforts of IESCO’s field staff.
He said the line teams were working continuously in extreme weather, playing a vital role in keeping the system running.

Their dedication, he added, reflects the company’s commitment to maintaining services during testing conditions.
The IESCO chief also instructed all Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) to closely oversee complaint centres and ensure timely redressal of public grievances.
