The Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan (CAA) has expressed optimism that the Gwadar International Airport is likely to be operational in 2025, issuing a notification granting it certification as a global aerodrome category C for the next two years.Â
This certification ensures pilots that the airport is suitable for landing planes under diverse weather conditions, and a modern landing system has been installed, allowing big airplanes like Airbus 320 and Boeing 737 to land safely. The airport’s operational status is further supported by a new flight operation schedule from December 1 to February 28, 2024, with flights operating three days per week.
