Former Punjab Chief Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has claimed that PTI Chairman Imran Khan promised him the post of Chief Minister of Punjab if the party wins the election in the province. During an interview, Elahi disclosed that he gave Khan a signed document about the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly, asking him to decide the date of the move. He further stated that Khan offered him the position of central president of the party and promised him that either Moonis Elahi or he would become the next Chief Minister if the party wins.

Elahi also criticized the current team of the establishment and claimed that his party respected the real establishment, which he referred to as the backbone of the country. He said that there were some intruders in it, which is why they could not be with them. He added that his party had no harmony with them, so all efforts of talks were meaningless, and they were not sorry for what they were doing.

Regarding the recent police and Anti-Corruption Establishment raid at his house, Elahi stated that the same people who were after Imran Khan were behind this action. Without naming anyone, he claimed that he was pressured not to join the PTI and told them that it was not their job to ask people to join or leave any political parties.

Elahi further claimed that Khan did not want a fight and his fight was with General Bajwa. He added that PTI had approached the court against those who will depend on this team. In response to a question about any chance of settlement between Khan and the establishment, Elahi asked with whom peace talks should be made. He said that Khan’s fight was with people who have particular mindsets and thoughts.

Elahi believes that the ongoing political chaos can only end if the Supreme Court gave the right kind of judgment. He said that the Chief Justice was trying for this and that the Sharifs catch or abuse those who do not support them but this time they cannot hold the judiciary. He added that Defence Minister Khawaja Asif was deputed to abuse the judiciary daily and challenge the judges in his statements. He further said that he knew that Asif got his seat by requesting former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi’s claims that Imran Khan promised him the post of Chief Minister of Punjab if the party wins the election in the province have created controversy. Elahi’s criticism of the current team of the establishment and his allegations that he was pressured not to join the PTI have also stirred up debate. The ongoing political chaos in Pakistan and the Supreme Court’s role in resolving it has been discussed by Elahi. The article has highlighted the major points raised by Elahi during his interview and presented them in an objective manner.
