Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan Arrested in Al-Qadir Trust Case

Former Pakistani Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has been arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Al-Qadir Trust case, according to reports. He was taken into custody from the Islamabad High Court premises where he had gone to seek bail in multiple cases against him. The situation is under control, said Inspector General of Police, Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan. PTI has alleged that Imran Khan was abducted from the court premises, and scores of lawyers and general people were tortured. Islamabad police have imposed Section 144 in the federal capital and rejected the PTI’s allegations. The party has announced protests across the country following the arrest of Imran Khan.

The arrest of Imran Khan has sparked controversy and debate across Pakistan. Many of his supporters are expressing outrage at what they see as a politically motivated move by the government to silence opposition voices. On the other hand, some people are applauding the government’s efforts to hold corrupt politicians accountable.

The Al-Qadir Trust case, for which Imran Khan has been arrested, involves allegations of corruption and misuse of funds by the former prime minister. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has been investigating the case for some time, and the arrest of Imran Khan is seen as a major breakthrough in the case.

The situation in Islamabad and other cities of Pakistan remains tense, with protests and demonstrations being held by both supporters and opponents of Imran Khan. The authorities have deployed additional security personnel to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents.

The government has defended the arrest of Imran Khan, stating that it was done in accordance with the law and due process. They have urged people to remain calm and respect the decision of the court. However, opposition parties have condemned the move and accused the government of using state institutions to silence opposition voices.

The case is expected to have significant political repercussions in the country, with the general elections just around the corner. Imran Khan is seen as a key figure in Pakistani politics, and his arrest is likely to have a major impact on the upcoming elections. The situation is fluid and evolving, and it remains to be seen how things will unfold in the coming days and weeks
