Security forces in Pakistan foiled a major attempt by militants to cross the Afghan border into Balochistan, killing 47 terrorists during a three day operation in the Sambaza area. The incident, which took place between August 7 and 9, has been described by officials as a significant intelligence and operational success.

According to security sources, the militants belonged to the outlawed group widely referred to as Khawarij. They were heavily armed and tried to enter Pakistan’s territory to carry out terror attacks. The forces, acting on timely intelligence, responded quickly and engaged the infiltrators before they could succeed in their plan.

Officials confirmed that most of the militants were killed near the border, with their bodies lying on the Afghan side. For nearly 15 days, no relatives, associates, or Afghan authorities came forward to retrieve the remains.

As the bodies decomposed, the matter was raised in a flag meeting between Pakistani and Afghan border officials on August 25. Following this meeting, the remains were eventually moved across the border using donkeys.

The security operation is being considered a major blow to militant networks operating in the region, as the group was neutralized before it could launch any new wave of terrorism. Authorities also noted that the action demonstrates Pakistan’s resolve to prevent cross-border infiltration and protect its citizens.

In a statement after the incident, security forces reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to defending the country’s borders. They stressed that any attempt to violate Pakistan’s territorial integrity will be met with immediate and decisive action. Officials also highlighted the importance of continued vigilance along the western frontier to ensure peace and stability in Balochistan and beyond.
