Excise Department Implements New Fee Structure

The Punjab government has increased the transfer fees for motorcycles and various categories of vehicles by 10%, effective immediately, according to a report by City42.

Under the revised rates, the transfer fee for motorcycles has gone up from Rs 550 to Rs 605 — an increase of Rs 55. For cars with engine capacities ranging from 650cc to 1000cc, the new fee is Rs 3,025, marking a Rs 275 hike.

Vehicles with engine sizes between 1000cc and 1800cc will now incur a transfer fee of Rs 6,050, reflecting an increase of Rs 550. For cars exceeding 1800cc, the fee has risen sharply by Rs 1,100, bringing the total to Rs 12,100.

Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTV) have also seen a rise in fees. The new amount stands at Rs 6,050 after a Rs 550 hike.

Excise and Taxation Department officials have confirmed that the revised fee schedule has been implemented across all excise offices in Punjab. The increase applies to all vehicle categories and will affect both private and commercial vehicle owners.
