Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s scenic regions witnessed a massive tourism boom during the three-day Eid-ul-Azha holidays, attracting over 932,000 visitors. The surge in tourist activity highlights the growing appeal of the province’s natural beauty and improved visitor services.
Swat Valley remained the most popular destination, drawing 288,424 local tourists along with 63 international visitors. Locations such as Madyan, Bahrain, and Kalam were especially busy, cementing Swat’s position as a favourite holiday spot in Pakistan.
Several other tourist regions also reported impressive numbers:

Galiyat: Approximately 177,000 visitors

Kaghan Valley: Around 168,000 tourists

Malam Jabba: 160,000 arrivals

Upper Dir: 85,000 travelers
These figures were gathered through entries logged at police and Levies checkpoints, with support from Tourism Police, local administration, and field officers from development authorities.

The sharp rise in tourism came as a result of measures taken by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur and Tourism Advisor Zahid Chanzeb. Authorities were instructed to ensure smooth traffic flow, safety, and access to basic facilities during the peak season.
Visitors praised the efforts made on the ground, especially the helpfulness and professionalism of young Tourism Police officers. Services such as parking management, security, tourist guidance, and emergency medical assistance were widely appreciated.
With improved infrastructure and coordinated efforts, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa appears to be reinforcing its position as a leading domestic travel destination.
