Drug Smuggling Bid Using Tennis Balls for Overseas Shipment Foiled

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has carried out a series of successful operations against drug trafficking across different parts of Pakistan, recovering narcotics worth over Rs18.6 million.

According to a spokesperson quoted by Express News, the force conducted four separate raids, seizing a total of 240.915 kilograms of drugs and arresting three suspects.

In the first operation, ANF officials raided a courier office in Lahore’s Gulberg area. During the search of a parcel destined for Portugal, they discovered 365 grams of crystal meth (Ice) concealed inside tennis balls.

The second raid took place near Lahore’s Data Darbar, where a vehicle search led to the recovery of 2 kilograms of Ice and 150 grams of weed. Two suspects were arrested on the spot.

In another operation near Sambarial on Wazirabad Road, authorities seized 3.6 kilograms of hashish from a suspect.

The largest recovery occurred in an uninhabited area of Mir Jatt, near the coastal city of Gwadar in Balochistan. ANF officers found 234.8 kilograms of hashish hidden for smuggling purposes.

Officials said that cases have been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act against the arrested individuals, and investigations are ongoing. They also hinted that further developments are expected as inquiries continue.
