Deadly Blast in Kabul

A powerful explosion struck Kabul’s Shahr-e-Naw district on Monday, killing at least seven people and injuring many others. The blast caused panic in the area, which is usually considered one of the most secure parts of the Afghan capital.

The explosion hit a hotel located on Gulfaroshi Street. The site is close to a Chinese restaurant and is known for housing foreign residents. May be Chinese nationals have been the main target of the attack.

An explosionhad taken place but did not immediately share an official death toll. Afghan security sources said the attackers appeared to be aiming at Chinese citizens, although the exact number of people affected is still unclear.

Kabul’s Emergency Hospital later shared details about the casualties. 20 injured people were brought in after the blast. Among them were one child and four women. Sadly, seven of the injured had already died before reaching the hospital.

At this stage, it has not been confirmed whether any of the victims were Chinese nationals. Authorities are continuing investigations to determine the exact cause of the blast and identify those responsible.

The incident has raised fresh concerns about security in areas once seen as relatively safe. Residents and foreign nationals in Kabul remain worried as officials work to gather more information and restore calm in the neighbourhood.
