CCD Tracks Down Social Media Gun Promoters in Narowal

Authorities in Punjab have launched a crackdown against individuals publicly displaying weapons and sharing related images on social media platforms.

The Crime Control Department (CCD) confirmed on Wednesday that six suspects had been arrested from Narowal and Nankana Sahib in connection with the offense.

According to a CCD spokesperson, the arrests were made after the department monitored online content showing individuals posing with firearms.

The digital surveillance led officers to specific profiles, triggering targeted operations in the two districts.

Four individuals were taken into custody from Narowal, while two were arrested in Nankana Sahib. Law enforcement recovered several modern rifles, pistols, and a large quantity of ammunition from the suspects.

Police officials said that cases had been registered against all six individuals and investigations were ongoing to determine the source of the weapons and whether more people are involved.

The CCD reiterated its commitment to taking strong action against those who glorify weapons or attempt to incite violence through online content.

Authorities have urged citizens to avoid sharing such material and report any similar incidents to the relevant law enforcement agencies.
