Summer spending on Visa premium consumer cards in Pakistan increased by 36% this year compared to the previous summer. According to Visa’s most recent data, the majority of the money went into lengthier trips, which accounted for two-thirds of total travel spending.

Travelers also expressed a high interest in growing locations such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Qatar, with expenditure in these regions increasing by 63%.
Digital payments played a significant part in this expansion. Premium Visa cardholders boosted their digital transactions by 110 percent, while their eCommerce purchasing rose by 19 percent. Dining and recreation costs also increased by 57%.
According to the research, the majority of respondents scheduled their vacations last minute, with 84% making preparations within a month of departure.
Premium cardholders’ outbound expenditure increased by 11%, accounting for over 80% of total summer travel spending. Inbound tourism has also surged, with tourists from the Gulf and Africa spending 33% more, while those from Europe spend 44% more.

According to Visa’s analysis, consumer behavior in Pakistan is evolving toward digital payments, longer journeys, and new travel locations, indicating a greater preference for ease and flexibility.
