On Sunday, a motorcycle laden with explosives blew up in the Barkhan district of Balochistan, killing at least four people and injuring 12 others. The explosion took place in the Rakhni Bazaar area and caused damage to several cars, motorcycles, and shops. Security forces cordoned off the area and suspended traffic after the incident. Police and law enforcement agencies are currently collecting evidence to determine the cause of the explosion.

Following the incident, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif sought a report from Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and the inspector-general of police. He directed that the best medical facilities be provided to those wounded in the blast and stated that the terrorists responsible would not be able to escape punishment. The prime minister expressed his condolences for the loss of lives and stated that those who spill innocent blood will be made an example of.

Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo also condemned the incident and ordered authorities to provide the best treatment facilities to the injured. He expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and stated that anti-state elements will not be allowed to succeed. The PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari also condemned the incident and called for all terrorists to be brought to justice. He offered his sympathies to the families of those who were killed and prayed for the speedy recovery of the wounded.

A day earlier, two policemen were martyred and one suffered injuries in a blast in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district. Unidentified miscreants had planted an improvised explosive device (IED) which went off while police personnel was patrolling the area. One of the policemen died at the medical facility while the other was under treatment. An emergency was imposed in the hospital, and a large number of citizens reached the medical facility to donate blood. Law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and launched a search for the perpetrators, while a probe was underway.

These incidents highlight the ongoing security challenges faced by Pakistan, particularly in the Balochistan region. The government must take decisive action to prevent such attacks and bring the perpetrators to justice. It is crucial to provide the best medical facilities to those injured and offer condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives. The government must work towards a sustainable solution to prevent such attacks and ensure the safety and security of its citizens.
