A popular Pakistani sauce brand, Dipitt, has come under heavy criticism after an artificial intelligence (AI)-generated ad appeared to show Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah eating food with a bottle of Dipitt’s chilli garlic sauce placed on the table.

The controversial ad, allegedly shared from the brand’s official social media accounts, sparked outrage online, with users condemning the use of Pakistan’s founder for commercial purposes. Many called the marketing move “ignorant,” “tone-deaf,” and “shameful.”
“This isn’t funny. He is a man of honour and should be respected,” one user commented, while another remarked, “You don’t mess with Quaid-e-Azam.” Others criticised the “desperate” attempt to insert the brand into any occasion.

Following the backlash, the ad was reportedly deleted, though Dipitt has yet to release an official statement. Known for its edgy and pop-culture-inspired marketing, the brand’s Instagram account, with over 22,000 followers, often uses AI tools to create event-based ads — but this time, the approach appears to have crossed a line for many Pakistanis.
