A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck several regions of Pakistan on Saturday, April 19, sending tremors through major cities including Lahore, Peshawar, and Islamabad.

The quake, which occurred at 6:47 AM UTC, originated 61km south of Eshkashem, Afghanistan, at a depth of 89 kilometers, according to preliminary data. Areas such as Rawalpindi, Abbottabad, Nowshehra, Malakand, Lower Dir, and Bajaur also reported feeling the tremors, with residents rushing out of their homes and workplaces in panic.
Fortunately, no casualties or damage have been reported so far.
This seismic event comes just days after Pakistan experienced another 5.5 magnitude quake on April 12, when two strong jolts were recorded in the northern region. The first, a 4.3-magnitude tremor, struck near the Pak-Afghan-Tajikistan border, mainly affecting Swat and adjacent areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The second, a 5.5-magnitude earthquake, was felt in Islamabad and surrounding areas. The frequent tremors have raised concerns among the population, prompting many to share their experiences on social media while emergency authorities continue monitoring the situation.
