A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck Quetta and nearby areas on Sunday evening, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan reported. The quake occurred at 6:29 p.m., about 65 kilometres west of Quetta, with a depth of 25 kilometres.

Mild to moderate tremors were felt in Quetta and surrounding districts, prompting residents to leave their homes as a precaution. The PDMA said the earthquake was recorded and analysed through automatic seismic monitoring.
No casualties or property damage have been reported so far. The Provincial Emergency Operations Centre is coordinating with district authorities to further assess the situation.

Balochistan has seen several quakes in recent months, including a 5.5-magnitude tremor in Musakhail in June that injured five people and damaged mud houses. Authorities have urged residents to stay cautious and follow safety guidelines.
