Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced the launch of the second phase of the Agriculture Graduates Internship Program, a major initiative aimed at empowering young professionals and modernizing the province’s agricultural sector.
Under this program, 2,000 agriculture graduates from across Punjab will be enrolled, each receiving a monthly stipend of Rs60,000, the highest ever for any internship in the agricultural sector.
“This initiative ensures our graduates are not only trained but also financially supported while contributing to the sector’s growth,” said CM Maryam Nawaz.
A district-wise quota system has been introduced to guarantee equal participation from all regions. The program is designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and field-based application, offering hands-on experience with agricultural technologies and practices.
