Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has finally responded to the ongoing controversy involving his sister, Dr Fazeela Abbasi, as her name surfaces in a high-profile money laundering case. The actor took to social media to clear his position after reports began linking him to the investigation, creating confusion among fans and the public.
In a detailed statement shared on Instagram, Hamza Ali Abbasi strongly denied any involvement in the case. He clarified that he is not under investigation by any agency, including the Federal Investigation Agency, and has no connection to the legal proceedings. He expressed concern that some media coverage was misleading and wrongly associating his name with the matter.
The actor also showed full support for his sister, calling her a successful and accomplished professional. He said he stands by her during this difficult time and believes that her side of the story should be heard. Hamza further added that he trusts Pakistan’s institutions to ensure justice and bring out the truth.
At the same time, he made it clear that the case is entirely related to his sister and her professional dealings. He requested the media and public not to involve him in discussions or expect comments, as he is not a legal party in the matter. He also warned that any future attempt to link his name with the case could result in legal action.
Meanwhile, the case itself has taken a serious turn. An Islamabad sessions court recently canceled the interim bail of Dr Fazeela Abbasi in connection with alleged money laundering transactions worth Rs25 billion. According to investigation reports, large amounts of money were deposited into multiple bank accounts and later transferred abroad, including to Dubai and the United States. Authorities claim that the sources of these funds remain unclear.
The case was reopened after an appeal, despite earlier proceedings being closed, leading to fresh legal action. As the investigation continues, the situation remains under close public and media scrutiny.
