MOL Pakistan has successfully launched the Youth Impact and Community Empowerment Program in Kohat, marking another milestone in the company’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable community development. The program will run over a period of three months and will engage 45 participants from local communities.

The initiative follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed earlier this month between MOL Pakistan and State Development Organization at the company’s head office. The partnership underscores MOL Pakistan’s continued focus on investing in youth as key drivers of long-term socio-economic resilience in its areas of operation and enabling them to be agents of positive change within their communities. This program marks the first in a series of similar initiatives through which MOL Pakistan will continue to equip local youth with the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed to thrive.

Under the program, MOL Pakistan is sponsoring the initiative, while SDO serves as the on-ground implementation partner. The program aims to empower youth from underprivileged communities by strengthening their educational, professional, and digital capacities. Participants will receive training in communication, digital literacy, and workplace readiness, along with exposure to entrepreneurship and locally relevant vocational pathways.

Commenting on the launch of the initiative, Zsolt Ádám László, Chief Executive Officer of MOL Pakistan, said:
“At MOL Pakistan, we believe that youth empowerment is central to sustainable community development. Through this initiative, we aim to equip young people in our operational areas with the skills and confidence they need to build better futures for themselves and contribute positively to their communities.”

Ali Murtaza Abbas, Regional Vice President, added:
“A sustainable and prosperous society relies on the principle of mutual contribution. As a responsible organization, we recognize the importance of actively investing in the communities where we operate, ensuring that our collective progress benefits both present and future generations.”

A representative of SDO remarked:
“Youth in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, are eager to enhance their competencies by gaining knowledge and skills that align with the modern professional environment. This collaboration between MOL Pakistan and SDO is addressing a critical need in the company’s operational areas, and we are committed to delivering meaningful and lasting impact through this program.”

SDO is a non-governmental, impartial, and humanitarian organization working with deprived, marginalized, and socially excluded segments of society. It has an established presence and strong track record of community-based development initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

MOL Pakistan, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hungary-based MOL Group, has been a key contributor to Pakistan’s energy sector since 1999. With working interests in several strategic blocks, including the TAL and Margalla Blocks, the company continues to play an important role not only in the country’s energy security but also in advancing socio-economic development in its host communities.
