The district administration of Haripur has intensified its anti dengue campaign in a bid to curb the spread of the mosquito-borne disease, officials confirmed on Monday.

According to district health authorities, field teams are carrying out large-scale mechanical removal of dengue vectors by targeting areas most prone to mosquito breeding. The teams are clearing stagnant water, cleaning drains, and removing containers or discarded items where water can collect, creating ideal conditions for dengue larvae.

The campaign is not limited to short-term actions. Long-term strategies such as source reduction, environmental management, and public awareness drives are also being implemented to ensure lasting control over the disease.

“Community participation is critical. Households and neighborhoods are being encouraged to keep their surroundings clean and to eliminate potential breeding grounds,” an official said.

To strengthen prevention, active surveillance has been launched across residential areas, schools, and outdoor locations for early detection and quick containment of possible outbreaks.

Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate fully with health teams, stressing that the success of the campaign depends on joint efforts between the administration and the community.
