In a recent interview with Mathira, Pakistani actor Zhalay Sarhadi spoke candidly about her struggles with three miscarriages and a hypothyroid diagnosis, shedding light on the societal pressures and stigma surrounding women’s health. She shared how people often ask intrusive questions, making it difficult for her to explain the personal reasons behind her choice to have only one child.

Sarhadi revealed that she had three miscarriages that were not due to diet or exercise but were a result of her medical condition. She opened up about how a miscarriage can affect a woman’s body both mentally and physically, highlighting the need for more understanding and empathy towards women who have gone through this experience.

The Chalay Thay Saath actor also talked about the stigma and criticism women face regarding their bodies and appearance, including weight gain, skin color, and features. She emphasized how society’s unrealistic expectations can cause harm to women’s self-esteem and mental health.

In addition, Sarhadi spoke about the taboo surrounding mental health in Pakistan and how it prevents people from seeking help. She encouraged others to seek professional help, stating that mental health is as important as physical health and that there is no shame in seeking assistance from psychiatrists or psychologists.

The interview was a refreshing change of pace, as it provided an open and honest discussion about women’s health and mental well-being. By breaking the taboo around these issues, Sarhadi and Mathira have helped to create awareness and encourage others to speak up about their own struggles.

The conversation highlighted the need for society to become more understanding and accepting of women’s health issues, and for individuals to be more sensitive and compassionate towards those who have experienced miscarriage or other health challenges. It is essential that we create a safe and supportive environment where women can share their experiences and receive the help they need.

Zhalay Sarhadi’s interview with Mathira was an excellent example of how artists can use their platform to raise awareness and advocate for important issues. By speaking openly about her struggles, she has helped to break the taboo around women’s health, inspiring others to do the same. We need more conversations like this to create a society that is more compassionate and supportive of women’s health.
