Karachi is preparing for a digital transformation in traffic management as the faceless e-challan system becomes operational on October 1, 2025. The initiative, led by Karachi Traffic Police in partnership with Lok Suhayta, promises a transparent and modern approach to law enforcement.
The system will rely on advanced CCTV cameras installed across the city. These cameras will automatically detect traffic violations, and challans will be dispatched to violators’ homes with clear photographic or video evidence. Officials say the model ensures accountability, fairness, and zero interference in the ticketing process.

To prepare citizens, a city-wide awareness campaign has been launched. Pamphlets are being distributed at traffic signals and busy commercial zones, while volunteers, lady constables, and student groups are educating commuters about the benefits of the system.
Traffic Police officials believe the faceless system will reduce corruption, discourage reckless driving, and build trust between the public and law enforcement. “On your journey, Karachi Traffic Police is your companion,” a spokesperson said, emphasizing transparency and safety.
