Punjab’s Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has praised the government’s new anti-smog operation, calling it a major step toward a cleaner and healthier environment. She shared a video of the operation on social media, showing how the province is taking serious action against smog.
According to Marriyum Aurangzeb, nine departments are working together across Punjab under the instructions of the Chief Minister to control smog. She said that brick kilns are being closely monitored through live reporting, and special machines like smog guns, air quality monitors, and other anti-smog tools are being used in the field. This effort reduce air pollution levels by nearly 70 percent.
For the first time in Punjab’s history, this operation is being guided by AQI forecasting, the minister said. She explained that weather data from the Air Quality Index is helping teams reach problem areas before pollution gets worse. Immediate raids are being carried out at hot spots identified by the data center.
She also mentioned that the Traffic Police have placed a temporary ban on the movement of trucks and other goods transport vehicles to reduce emissions.
The government plans to continue using technology and teamwork to fight smog and improve air quality across the province. Marriyum Aurangzeb said the goal is to make Punjab a cleaner, greener, and safer place for everyone.
