Get ready for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025! Learn about the holiday schedule, moon sighting, and travel tips to plan your celebrations and family gatherings.

The federal government has announced the holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr. According to the notification issued by the Cabinet Division, there will be government holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr in the country from Monday, 31st March, to Wednesday, 2nd April.

That would not make the entire week, though, because there remain two in between weekend and the holidays. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be holidays, but we get Saturday and Sunday together, so we get a very varied weekend.

We have to go to work again for two days, and after that we will have one or two holidays. Many people must be planning to travel during the Eid holidays, though they are not getting confirmation about the second day.

I am saying this because there are chances of the moon being visible on the 30th of March, and it has been said by our scientists from the meteorological department that the age of the moon will be 27 hours on the 30th of March, and at the time of sunset the moon will remain in the sky for 70 minutes.

Yes, you will be able to observe the moon with the naked eye, so there are good chances that the moon will be visible and Eid-ul-Fitr will be on Monday, 31st March. So, all those who are planning to travel – children have to go to their grandparent’s house; they have to travel anywhere, or people have to come to your house, maybe, or your father and mother have to come to your place – so make your decision accordingly. And then, as we all know, feasts also have to be scheduled, whether it will be on Monday or Tuesday.

In many families, it is set like this: the lunchtime meal is for us, the dinner will be for the aunts, and the next day will be different. Now there are good chances that it will be on Monday, so you should keep your preparations accordingly.
