In a significant development, Jahangir Khan Tareen, an estranged leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has made the decision to establish a new national-level political party, as reported by ARY News. Sources familiar with the matter have indicated that several disgruntled PTI leaders are expected to join Tareen’s new political setup.

Notably, numerous political families from regions such as Dera Ghazi Khan (DG Khan), Rajanpur, Muzzafargarh, Lodhran, and Multan are also anticipated to join Tareen’s party. Additionally, sources have revealed that several important leaders from Karachi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan have already reached out to the senior politician.

Tareen is expected to hold the position of patron-in-chief within the newly formed party. This move signifies a significant shift in the political landscape, as Tareen seeks to establish a political platform that aligns with his vision and gathers support from disillusioned PTI members.

Furthermore, it has come to light that Jahangir Khan Tareen has recently opened a political office in Lahore. In recent days, former PTI lawmakers from South Punjab, who have recently parted ways with the party, have reportedly met with Tareen in Lahore. It is worth mentioning that more than 20 influential political figures, whose identities have not been disclosed yet, have also held meetings with Tareen in the city.

Jahangir Khan Tareen’s return to the political arena comes after his removal from politics in 2017 when the Supreme Court disqualified him on grounds of being “dishonest” based on a petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi. Since then, Tareen has remained an influential figure and maintained his political clout, making his re-entry into active politics a matter of great significance.

The establishment of a new political party by Tareen has the potential to reshape the political dynamics in Pakistan. With disenchanted PTI members and influential politicians from various regions showing interest in joining his party, Tareen aims to create a viable alternative for those who have grown disillusioned with their current political affiliations.

The success and impact of Tareen’s new political venture will depend on several factors, including his ability to attract experienced politicians, build a robust organizational structure, and present a compelling political agenda that resonates with the aspirations of the people.
