Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, expressed concerns about the economic challenges facing Pakistan during an event in Peshawar. He emphasized that uplifting the country’s economy would be a significant challenge. Rehman also addressed political matters, stating that it was not a matter of joy to see political opponents in jail while others were free. He advocated for the release of all politicians and highlighted the need for ideological differences to be addressed in a constructive manner.

Rehman pointed out that traders were facing economic hardships and mentioned the public’s protests against inflated power bills. He criticized the interim government, stating that it appeared to have limited impact and involvement in addressing pressing issues.

Additionally, Fazlur Rehman mentioned that his party would welcome the return of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo, Nawaz Sharif. He clarified that there had been no prior contact regarding Sharif’s return, but affirmed Sharif’s right to return and participate in politics. Rehman also commented on the merger of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), expressing his belief that the merger had not resulted in significant benefits for the local population.

Fazlur Rehman’s remarks shed light on the economic challenges Pakistan faces and his party’s stance on various political matters, including the return of Nawaz Sharif and the merger of FATA. These statements were made during an event in Peshawar and a press conference in Faisalabad.
