Roblox Makes a Big Change to Protect Children

Roblox, one of the world’s biggest gaming platforms, is taking a major step to improve safety for young players. The company has announced that children will no longer be able to chat with unknown adults on the platform. This new decision comes as part of a wider plan to protect users, especially minors.

To make the system stronger, Roblox will now introduce mandatory age verification for anyone who wants to use chat features. These checks will begin in December for Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands. By January, the update will roll out to players around the world.

Roblox has often faced criticism for exposing children to inappropriate content and allowing communication between kids and adults. Several US states are currently suing the company over concerns related to child safety and harmful interactions on the platform. Because of this pressure, the new rules are seen as an important step toward rebuilding trust.

This update also comes at a sensitive time. Australia is preparing to enforce a social media ban for children under 16, and many experts say gaming platforms like Roblox should be included in the restrictions. With this new policy, Roblox appears to be preparing for stricter global expectations regarding online safety.

Roblox hopes the new safety measures will make the platform safer and more secure for millions of young players worldwide.
