Indian content creator and aspiring judge Misha Agarwal died by suicide on April 24, just two days before her 25th birthday, her family has confirmed. In a statement shared on her official social media account, the family revealed that she had been deeply distressed by the decline in her Instagram followers.
Agarwal, a law graduate and entrepreneur, had devoted herself to building a strong online presence. According to her family, she had set her sights on reaching one million followers and was emotionally invested in the digital community she had created. However, as her follower count began to drop, her mental health reportedly worsened.
Her family said that in the weeks leading up to her death, Misha struggled with feelings of worthlessness and despair. They described how she would often cry and express fear that her career would end if her followers continued to decrease. Her sister recalled trying to reassure her, reminding Misha of her academic achievements and encouraging her to focus on her future in law.

Despite the support, Misha reportedly became consumed by the pressure to maintain her online popularity. Her family expressed heartbreak over her passing and shared the message in hopes of raising awareness about the emotional toll social media can take on young people.
They urged others to value their self-worth beyond digital numbers and to treat platforms like Instagram as tools for expression—not as measures of personal success.
Misha’s death has sparked conversations across Indian media about the mental health impact of social media on influencers, particularly among the younger generation striving for digital fame.
