British-American influencer and former kickboxer Tristan Tate has once again stirred controversy—this time by lending his voice to the cause of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, currently imprisoned on corruption charges.

On X (formerly Twitter), Tate simply wrote: “Free Imran Khan!” — a post that quickly went viral, igniting a flurry of reactions across Pakistani and global social media. While some saw it as a sign of international attention on Khan’s imprisonment, others were skeptical of Tate’s endorsement given his own contentious legal history.

“It’s hard to tell if this helps Imran Khan’s cause or hurts it,” one user posted, reflecting the divided public opinion.

Tristan and his brother Andrew Tate, known for their polarizing online presence and advocacy of “redpill” ideology, have built global notoriety—often linked to misogynistic rhetoric, legal troubles, and brash “alpha male” branding.

Both brothers were arrested in Romania in a human trafficking case and later released under surveillance, yet they frequently portray themselves as victims of political conspiracies.

During Imran Khan’s arrest in 2023, the Tates drew comparisons between their experiences and Khan’s situation, branding all three as victims of corrupt legal systems. Andrew Tate even referred to Khan’s detention as “politically motivated”, suggesting a shared struggle against state repression.

Imran Khan, ousted from power in 2022, was arrested in August 2023 on several corruption-related charges. The most prominent involve the illegal sale of state gifts and alleged misuse of authority during his tenure as Prime Minister.

Khan’s arrest sparked nationwide protests, with supporters labeling the charges as part of a political vendetta. He remains incarcerated in Adiala Jail, where his legal team and family allege inhumane conditions, including solitary confinement, limited access to legal counsel, and insufficient medical care.
