Fans of the legendary crime series CID have reason to rejoice—Shivaji Satam is officially returning in CID Season 2 as ACP Pradyuman, just weeks after the character’s shocking on-screen death.

Episodes aired on April 5 and 6 left viewers stunned, as the beloved ACP was killed off and replaced by a new officer, played by Parth Samthaan. However, the twist sparked an intense backlash, with many fans refusing to accept Pradyuman’s abrupt exit.

According to Indian media reports, the strong reaction from audiences forced the show’s creators to rethink their move. Satam’s character will now be resurrected in dramatic fashion, likely involving a “back-from-the-dead” storyline that embraces full-blown suspense.

This unexpected turn has raised eyebrows — was ACP Pradyuman’s exit ever meant to be permanent, or was it a strategic publicity move designed to create buzz around CID 2?

Parth Samthaan, who had taken over as ACP, admitted in a recent interview with Hindustan Times that he had initial doubts about the role:

“I was initially hesitant to take the role. The idea of senior cast members addressing me as ‘sir’ on screen felt awkward.”

While Parth’s future on the show remains unclear, it seems likely that his role will be reshaped rather than removed entirely — potentially setting up a dynamic two-ACP storyline.

Shivaji Satam had previously shared his excitement about returning to the iconic role:

“It feels surreal to return as ACP Pradyuman after six years… We promise a thrilling ride filled with suspense and heart-stopping drama.”

CID, which ran for over two decades before ending in 2018, returned with a bang in 2025 with CID Season 2, currently streaming on SonyLIV and Netflix.

Fans can expect ACP Pradyuman’s grand return in upcoming episodes — with plenty of drama, mystery, and maybe a few “Daya, darwaza tod do!” moments to match.
