Stage actor Samar Rana has been arrested in Lahore following serious accusations from a teenage domestic worker. The 14-year-old alleged that Rana physically abused her and enabled five unidentified men to sexually assault her at the actor’s residence.
Nawab Town police confirmed the case and said the performer was taken into custody, adding that efforts were underway to arrest the other suspects. The victim is reported to be receiving care while authorities continue their inquiries.
Rana’s legal troubles are not new. Two years ago, police detained her after the Lahore High Court cancelled her bail in a property fraud case. She was accused of taking Rs 2.6 million from a citizen in a housing deal and refusing to vacate the premises.
Media reports suggest that the actor has previously faced similar accusations in multiple fraud cases. Police said investigations will focus on both the abuse claims and Rana’s criminal history.
