Islamic preacher Dr Zakir Naik has amazed followers by diving from a 430-foot-high platform during his tour of Bali, Indonesia — showcasing a side of himself far removed from his usual public image.

The 59-year-old preacher, best known as the founder of Peace TV and a globally followed speaker, engaged in extreme adventure sports during his Southeast Asia visit. He participated in bungee jumping, cliff diving, and water slides — sharing footage online that immediately drew attention.

His social media posts showed him mid-air in a harness, descending from the edge of a steep cliff with the ocean below. Fans filled the comments with admiration, calling his actions courageous and refreshing.

This wasn’t his first experience with such stunts. Last year, he had performed a similar act in Uganda, jumping from 165 feet. The recent jump in Bali, however, raised the bar significantly, marking nearly triple the previous height.

At a time when South Asian media, especially in Pakistan, is dominated by political unrest, cancelled gatherings, and street protests, Dr Naik’s daring activities have offered a striking contrast. Many have interpreted his moves as symbolic — spiritual strength matched by personal bravery.

Observers have noted that Dr Naik’s public persona continues to evolve. While his lectures on comparative religion remain central to his identity, his willingness to embrace adventure suggests a broader, more relatable image.
