Pakistani actresses Laila Wasti and Angeline Malik have opened up about their battles with cancer, sharing emotional stories of survival, faith, and determination.
Laila Wasti revealed that she collapsed while in the US and was diagnosed with terminal-stage blood cancer at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where doctors told her she had only 48 hours to live. Alone in the hospital, she signed her own consent forms before undergoing surgeries and heavy medication.
The treatment left her bones so weak that she required hip and knee replacements, but she said her strong faith gave her the will to fight.

Angeline Malik shared that she was diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer last December. She explained that ovarian cancer is often a “silent killer” and urged women to get regular medical checkups. Despite feeling healthy, her intuition led her to take tests after returning from a vacation, which confirmed the disease.
After surgery and chemotherapy, Malik is now cancer-free but continues regular screenings and medication. She emphasized the importance of mental strength, saying patients should never see themselves as bedridden because a positive mindset helps stop the illness from spreading.
