Pakistani screenwriter Khalil ur Rehman Qamar is facing intense criticism after his controversial and abusive outburst against star cricketer Mohammad Rizwan went viral on social media.
The incident took place during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) special episode of Har Lamha Purjosh on ARY Digital, hosted by Waseem Badami. Also present were former cricketers Basit Ali and Kamran Akmal, but Khalil’s aggressive behavior quickly became the episode’s unfortunate highlight.

In a now-viral clip, Khalil ur Rehman dismissed Multan Sultans’ recent win over Lahore Qalandars as a mere “fluke” and questioned Rizwan’s credibility as a captain. His criticism lacked coherence, as he confused match statistics, mentioning Rizwan’s performance in an unrelated Champions Trophy game against India instead of a PSL fixture.
“Rizwan is not fit to be a captain,” Khalil exclaimed, before launching into a tirade.
The rant escalated when he used the abusive term “Lanat” for Rizwan—a word that was censored during the live broadcast. The panel, including Badami, Basit Ali, and Kamran Akmal, immediately tried to calm him down, labeling his remarks harsh and inappropriate. However, Khalil continued his rant, bizarrely claiming to be a cricketer himself—prompting laughter from both the panel and the audience.
Khalil’s tone throughout the discussion was also disrespectful toward host Waseem Badami, raising serious questions about media ethics and professionalism in sports commentary.
