Pakistani actress Hania Aamir has officially appeared in the trailer of the upcoming Punjabi film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’, starring Diljit Dosanjh, ending weeks of speculation regarding her removal from the project.
On Sunday evening, Diljit Dosanjh shared the trailer on his social media platforms, confirming that Hania Aamir is the lead actress in the much-anticipated sequel. The film is set to release on June 27, but only overseas, as it will not screen in Indian cinemas due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

Rumours about Hania’s potential removal began circulating following the Pahalgam attack on April 22, which significantly strained diplomatic ties between the two countries. In the aftermath, nationalist groups in India called for a complete ban on Pakistani actors in Indian films.
However, the trailer’s release has confirmed that not only Hania Aamir but also other Pakistani actors such as Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar, and Saleem Albela remain part of the project.
Indian users trying to access the trailer on YouTube are met with a geolocation block and the message:
“The uploader has not made this video available in your country.”
Earlier, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had urged the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to withhold certification due to the involvement of Pakistani talent. To avoid further backlash, the producers opted to restrict the film’s release to international markets only.
Meanwhile, Hania Aamir’s Instagram account has also reportedly been blocked in India, following her criticism of India’s Operation Sindoor.

Despite the political controversy, Hania’s presence in the trailer has generated both praise and criticism online. While many fans celebrated her cross-border collaboration, others viewed it as a provocation given the current geopolitical climate.
As the situation continues to evolve, Hania Aamir’s involvement in Sardaar Ji 3 remains a topic of heated public discourse, underscoring the fragile state of cultural exchange between India and Pakistan.
