Bollywood icon and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has filed a legal petition against several artificial intelligence (AI) platforms for allegedly using her image, voice, and identity without consent.
Her lawyers submitted a joint petition in the Delhi High Court, demanding a ban on platforms that manipulate her likeness to create explicit videos, images, and graphics. According to the petition, AI-generated content has misused her photos and voice, producing inappropriate materials that damage her reputation.
The actress also highlighted the existence of fake websites using her name and likeness to mislead users. She further accused e-commerce sites of exploiting her identity by promoting products under her name without authorization.
Although Rai has not demanded financial damages at this stage, she is seeking a clear injunction to prevent platforms from using her personal attributes without consent. The Delhi High Court has issued notices to all parties, summoning their responses by November, with formal hearings expected in January 2026.
This case comes amid a growing wave of Bollywood celebrities turning to the courts against AI misuse. Several actors have recently taken similar action as deepfake technology continues to spread across digital platforms.
