The father of deceased actress and model Humaira Asghar has broken his silence for the first time since her decomposed body was discovered in her Karachi apartment, months after her death.
Speaking briefly to the media following Humaira’s funeral in Lahore’s Model Town Q Block Graveyard on Friday, he addressed circulating rumors and expressed anguish over his daughter’s tragic fate.
“Whatever happened to my daughter, Allah will hold those responsible to account,” he said solemnly.
In response to widespread speculation that the family had abandoned Humaira’s body, her father rejected the allegations as “completely baseless.”
“How could anyone receive the body before a proper medical examination?” he asked, referencing the necessary procedural delays due to the condition of her remains.

He also clarified that Humaira’s mother was in touch with her before her death, contradicting earlier reports suggesting that she had been estranged from her family.
Humaira’s body, which had remained undiscovered for nearly eight months, was found by a bailiff attempting to vacate the flat due to non-payment of rent. The shocking discovery revealed a body in an advanced state of decomposition, surrounded by decaying food and rusted utensils—painting a grim picture of isolation and neglect.
Her body was flown from Karachi to Lahore on Friday and taken directly to the graveyard for burial. According to her brother, the family opted not to bring the body home, due to the condition of the remains and the sensitivity of the circumstances.

The cause of Humaira’s death remains unclear. Police are awaiting forensic and post-mortem results before concluding whether foul play was involved. So far, no signs of forced entry have been reported.
The mysterious circumstances of her death and long absence from public view have led to speculation about her personal struggles. Authorities continue to investigate her disappearance, financial situation, and last known contacts.
