The 6th Best of Rumeli Award Ceremony was held in Istanbul at the Cemil Reşit Rey Concert Hall, organized by the Federation of Rumeli Balkan Associations and supported by Istanbul Rumeli University. The grand event brought together many famous personalities from the arts, media, and cultural sectors, all gathered to celebrate the vibrant Rumeli and Balkan culture.
Hosted by Suzan Kardeş and Yusuf Emin, the ceremony was filled with color, excitement, and heartfelt moments. The audience enjoyed a special musical performance by Norm Ender, who performed “Parla”, the 100th Anniversary March of the Turkish Republic, earning huge applause.
Many respected figures took the stage to present awards. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kara, Rector of Istanbul Rumeli University, presented the “Best Journalist” award to Nevşin Mengü. Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşe Yiğit Şakar honored Cezmi Baskın with the “Best Rumeli Icon” award for his beloved role as Osman Ağa in Akasya Durağı.
Other winners included Pelin Batu (Best Writer), Yeşim Salkım (Best Female Artist), Berk Atan (Best Male Actor), Fuat Güner (Master Artist), and İlker Başbuğ (Rubafed Honorary Award).
The ceremony ended with cheerful applause and smiles, leaving everyone inspired. The night beautifully highlighted the rich culture and unity of Rumeli and the Balkans, creating memories that will be cherished for years.
