Schools Shut Down in Jhelum Amid Rising Tension

Due to the present state of peace and order, all public and private schools in Jhelum will be closed on Monday, October 13, 2025. The District Education Authority issued this decision in response to the Deputy Commissioner’s directive to protect children, teachers, and school personnel.

According to an official notice issued by the Chief Executive Officer of the District Education Authority Jhelum, the shutdown is a preventive measure. School principals have been instructed to quickly notify students, parents, and staff of the closure.

Schools have also been asked to ensure that appropriate security measures are in place to protect school property during this time. The District Education Authority has directed school principals to maintain contact with field officials for future instructions.

Classes are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, October 14, unless further directives are issued. Meanwhile, the Punjab administration has announced that schools and institutions in the remainder of the province will reopen on October 13.
