The Punjab government has issued a strict directive to all public and private schools across the province to comply with the extended summer vacation schedule, which now runs until September 1, 2025.

Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat stated that the decision applies uniformly to every institution and that there will be zero tolerance for any violation. The minister reiterated that schools found opening before the specified date will face disciplinary action, including possible fines or other legal measures.
To strengthen enforcement, the provincial education department has launched a dedicated helpline — +92 316 0261408 — enabling parents, teachers, and community members to report non-compliance. Complaints will be reviewed promptly, and inspection teams have been instructed to act immediately upon receiving credible reports.

Officials noted that the summer vacation extension was announced in response to the prolonged heatwave affecting many parts of Punjab, posing health risks to students, particularly younger children. Authorities have urged school administrations to respect the decision, emphasizing that safeguarding student well-being remains the government’s top priority.
