The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced new test centers for MDCAT 2025 to make it easier for students from Sindh and Balochistan. Jacobabad has been added as a center for students from upper Sindh, while Islamabad will now host a center for candidates from both provinces.
Previously, Sindh had test centers only in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Sukkur. Students from remote areas often faced long and stressful journeys, but the new centers aim to reduce travel time and costs.

Sukkur IBA University and Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences Quetta will also establish a center in Islamabad. This will help students already residing in the federal capital avoid travelling back to their home provinces for the test.
A PMDC spokesperson confirmed that registration for MDCAT 2025 began on August 8 and will continue until August 25, with late registration available until September 1. Students welcomed the move, saying it will make appearing for the exam more convenient and less stressful.
The decision has been widely appreciated by students and parents, who had previously raised concerns about the difficulties of travelling long distances for the exam. Many candidates, especially from rural areas, reported that long journeys and unfamiliar city environments added to their stress and affected their performance.
