The move is aimed at improving school management and raising education standards. Officials noted that the absence of permanent headmasters had disrupted administrative stability and contributed to declining academic performance in many institutions.
To incentivise the newly appointed headmasters, the government has approved an additional monthly allowance of Rs 10,000. The education minister underscored that stronger leadership in schools is essential for restoring discipline and enhancing the overall learning environment.
Rana Sikandar Hayat urged department officials to fast-track the recruitment process so that schools, particularly in underperforming areas, do not face further delays in receiving effective leadership. He expressed hope that the appointments would bring much-needed structure and accountability to public schools.
