Lahore Science Mela 2025 Concluded

As the much-trumpeted Lahore Science Mela (LSM) 2025 came to a close on a high note, Dr. Rashid Mahmood, Spokesperson of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) has urged that such successful events need to be launched in other major cities of the country especially the capital.

Dr. Rashid Mahmood, said that participation by people anad families in the mela was massive and very encouraging.

“In order to keep the spirit of curiosity alive in youth, we should launch such interactive and useful science festivals all over Pakistan and especially in Islamabad,” Dr. Rashid remarked and added that that such events ignite curiosity, promote love for scientific research and quench the thirst of young minds to know.

During the two days of LSM-2025, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission’s role in minerals exploration, power production, agricultural reforms and health sectors was displayed in an engaging manner. The highlights of the PAEC pavilion were radiopharmaceutical kits used for diagnosis of cancer produced by Pakistan Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology (PINSTECH), model of nuclear power plant, indigenously developed vaccines, and other products of agriculture and minerals sectors.

Young students were also excited to meet the Champions of International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO) 2025, trained and groomed for the contest by Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), the top-notch engineering university of PAEC.

Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) has been actively participating in Lahore Science Mela for years and has always tried to take a lead in the initiative launched by Khwarizmi Science Society (KSS).

The mela was held at Crescent Model Higher Secondary School, Lahore which attracted over 100,000 people. The Mela was filled with fun especially for youth owing to a variety of attractions including a diverse range of science and technology exhibitors, planetarium, ‘Surpriseum’, laser demonstrations, , exciting indoor games, activities, workshops along with informative auditorium talks.
