All schools, colleges, and universities in Lahore have been closed due to the tense law and order situation in the city. The Education Department directed both government and private institutions to send students home early as several major roads were blocked, leading to heavy traffic and safety concerns. Authorities confirmed that parents were being informed promptly to ensure the safe return of their children.

The Higher Education Department also ordered the closure of all colleges and universities, including Punjab University, which has been fully evacuated. The LLB exams scheduled for today have been postponed, though the ones planned for October 13 will continue as scheduled. Officials stated that these steps were taken as a precaution to protect students and staff.
Public transportation in Lahore has also come to a halt. The Orange Line train and Metro bus services have been suspended, along with operations at the City Terminal, Rahbar Terminal, and other major bus stations. The suspension has caused serious inconvenience for commuters trying to travel within the city.

The decision follows a federal order suspending mobile internet services in Islamabad and Rawalpindi due to ongoing protests by a religious group. Punjab’s government has also imposed Section 144 across the province for 10 days, banning public gatherings of four or more people to prevent any potential unrest and ensure public safety.
