Rafiq Qureshi, Secretary of the Minimum Wage Board, said the wage revision was carried out under the Sindh Minimum Wages Act, 2015. He noted that the latest increase reflects an 8.1% hike and is applicable to all businesses and institutions, whether registered or not. He further mentioned that the board is open to receiving objections or suggestions regarding the new wage structure within 14 days.

Sindh Labour Minister Shahid Thahim emphasized the government’s commitment to labor rights, stating that female workers will be paid equally to their male colleagues. He warned that employers found violating the new wage policy would face legal action.
